This is me

​ Welcome to my humble abode. My name is Marta Grabkowski and I would consider myself a Jack of many trades. I have studied: animation, illustration and in the end, have found myself in graphic design. I specialize in print, packaging, and motion graphics, however, I am always looking for a new opportunity to expand my skills.

Growing up, I had never imagined I would end up working in graphic design. My interest had always been in the more obvious forms of art, such as fine art, film, or book illustration. For this reason I first studied animation at Durham College, and discovering layout art I followed this up with Illustration and Concept art at Algonquin college. During my time at Algonquin College I gained a far bigger interest in graphic design. By then my motion graphics, and illustration skills had grown, but I began to notice that when It came to laying out my work I was lacking. From there I began to notice the beauty and complexity of graphic design and eventually I decided to pursue this interest.

Due to my colourful background I find myself gravitating towards vibrant colours and bold design choices. Additionally when I can, I love incorporating illustrations in my work. I find that if done right, it can liven up the design. With this said I tend to challenge myself and enjoy working in other styles so that I can continue to grow as an artist.
